Financial aid to needy patients

JCBF gave financial support for eye examination, treatment, supply of spectacle to:

JCBF Optometrist Fatema trained the interns at Lotus college of optometry the dispensing skills of spectacles of the children who required glasses from the Vision screening at Laxmi Nagar MPS.
Online training of Interns was conducted for further investigation of Children referred from Vision screening programme on 28Th February

On ‘World Optometry Day’ 23rd March 2023 , Lecture on ‘Eye Health & Nutrition’ was conducted at Abhudaya Nagar MPS for Teachers to help them advise children and parents on the benefits of healthy eating

VS conducted at Vision screening program at Laxmi Nagar MPS on 10th February 2023
419 Students and 15 Staff were screened.
45children and 2 staff were dispensed Spectacles
All costs were borne by JCBF.

JCBF organised an Award distribution ceremony of Lotus college Interns on 25th may 2023 for screening of 1420 children and teachers of 4 schools. Prizes for the best quality Vision Screening & full examination at Hospital were awarded
Mrs Prema Chande (Principal Lotus college of Optometry) distributed the prizes in presence od Faculties, Mrs Mumtaz Qazi, Mrs Sakina Mussaddi , Ms Joycee Jiji
Ms. Gayatri Vishwakarma won the first prize
Mr. Amaan Sayyed won the second prize
Mr. Kunj Kalaria won the third prize.

JCBF celebrated World Sight Day on 12th October 2023 in partnership with CHARUSAT University, Changa, Gujarat
Venue was at Bapubhai Desaibhai Patel Institute of Paramedical Sciences Gujarat.
The theme for the event was “Love your sight at Work”

JBCF - LBV collaboration
20 PG students were given scholarship by JBCF to take up courses offered by LBV in the current year.
JCBF sponsored LBV programme for hybrid course for PG students for online teaching followed by a hands-on workshop on 25th March 2023.

JCBF sponsored 10 faculty members, 6 optometrists and PG students for the workshop on 'RGP Lens Basics & Advance fitting of Irregular Corneas’ conducted by Learn Beyond Vision (LBV) on 7th July 2023 and 6th August 2023 held at MCVI, Gurgoan

JCBF supported ASCON‘2023 conference at Ahmedabad held from 3rd-5th November 2023.
ASCO India is “Association of Schools and colleges of Optometry” across India.
JCBF sponsored travel grant for 74 UG students.

JCBF partnered with SVG Technologies Pvt. Ltd to set up a training programme for teaching visually impaired beneficiaries of SVG on how to use them
JCBF Master Trainer Optometrist Fatema trained visually impaired beneficiaries Mr. Adil and Mr. Sandeep of Sutu Trust as Master Trainers for distribution of one thousand (1000) SVG in Gujarat & Maharashtra

Setu Seva Trust is a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Gujarat. It manages a Hostel for Blind UG students and is run by two visually impaired women Sudhaben Patel and Radhaben Patel
JCBF joined hands with Setu Seva Trust to service the visually impaired community of Gujarat for supply of SVG

JCBF ,Training partner with SHG technologies distributed Smart Vision Glasses(SVG) to visually impaired beneficiaries.
The program was held on 24th June 2023 at Victoria Memorial School for Blind
UTI(MS Shivani), Rotary club of Madras East (Mr.Srinivasan Rao),SHG technologies(Mr.Ibrahim) and JCBF representative Optom Fatema Symfawala started with the distribution of 61 glasses and JCBF optometrist trained the beneficiaries to use these glasses.
Total of 300 beneficiaries were trained and given SVG by JCBF Optometrist Fatema
