Financial aid to needy patients

  • JCBF gave financial support for eye examination, treatment, supply of spectacle and therapeutic contact lenses to:
  • Eknath Raut. (spectacles)
  • Prasad Fanade. (Rose K Lenses)
  • Ms. Yasmin Siddique for binocular vision therapy.

Vision screening program at Mahatma Phule Market school

  • VS conducted at Mahatma Phule market Mumbai public school, Karnac Bunder on 16,17 & 18th August.
  • 200 Students and 6 Staff were screened.
  • 1 student Shamim Sheikh was sent to Dr. Hemalini Sawant (Team Hospital ) for further investigation. Diagnoses Muscular imbalance and was given treatment
  • 40 children and 1 staff were dispensed Spectacles
  • All costs were borne by JCBF.

Vision screening program at Sitaram mill compound school

  • VS conducted at Sitaram Mill compound School, Lower Parel on 10th & 11th November.
  • 470 children and 20 Staff were screened.
  • 2 Children were sent for further treatment to Dr. Hemalini Sawant (Team Hospital)
  • 9 Children and 3 staff was dispensed with Spectacles
  • All costs were borne by JCBF.

Vision screening program at Abhudaya Nagar public school

  • VS conducted at Abhudaya nagar public school, Lower Parel on 15th and 16th November
  • 529 Children and 39 Staff were screened.
  • 14 children were sent for further treatment to Dr Hemalini Sawant ( Team Hospital) for further investigation
  • 9 children and 3 staff was dispensed spectacles
  • All costs were borne by JCBF.

Study Paper Presentation at OptoEve Conference

  • Senior optometrist Fatema Symfawalla presented a study based on all JCBF vision screening outcome of past 10 years from 2009 to 2019
  • The paper presentation was supported by JCBF at the Optoeve Conference conducted by Maharashtra Optometry Association (MOA) held at Aurangabad in 16th October 2022.

Financial Assistance for School Fees

  • Ms.Divya Bauri & Balaji Bauri have been given financial assistance for her school fees for the academic year 2022-2023.
  • Their reports show excellent performance last year.

Financial Support to Optometrist Education

  • JCBF partially supported financially Optometrist Jui Patel from Ahmedabad to complete Advance Contact Lens Course.

Support for Research and Study

  • Optom Jyoti-Dave Singh, Managing Trustee of JCBF participated with Optom Zalak Shah to conduct a study at Nagri Eye Hospital & Nagri School of Optometry in Ahmedabad in Collaboration with Menicon Japan
